ssing of stone. Greece had quarries that yielded high-quality marble, especially on the island of Paros and the slopes of Mount Pendelikon in Attica. These types of marble were much in demand in antiquity for the carving of sculptures, but they were also
used to embellish temples and other monuments. The Greeks also produced engraved stones and jewelry of incredible beauty, especially the ones made by the craftsmen of Graecia Magna.\par
